'Where Learning English is Interactive and Fun!’

Intermediate Level

Our Advanced level is for our students who can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. At the end of this level our students should be able to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in school etc. Our students should also be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while living in an area where the language is spoken. In addition our students should also be able to produce grammatically accurate simple connected texts and essays on topics that are tested on the O level syllabus, IETLS and TOEFL . They should also be able to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Outline:

Future, Future Continuous, Future Perfect Tenses, Tag Questions. Reported Speech. Inference in reading. Topic sentences, discourse markers. Intensive listening tasks. Students will have a vocabulary of about 5,000 words and be able to exploit his/her higher literacy level for a variety of communicative purpose academic as well as social. Students will be able to write the following expository, narratives and descriptive writing, comparisons, processes, letters and reports.


Advance


The upper intermediate level is the minimum requirement for undergraduate courses at many UK universities and institutes of higher education. On completion of this level students should be able to understand stated and unstated functions and the explicit and implicit meaning of the content of written and spoken communication in a wide range of social, academic and professional contexts, and to express oneself in the spoken and written form effectively with a high degree of accuracy, appropriacy and style.

Outline:

Varieties of English, limericks, idioms, euphemisms, relative clauses, discussion on a wide range of topics, proof-reading, consolidating language foundation for the next course (TOEFL/IELTS)
